Poem by Jordan Rothenberg
Reclaiming Inner Child
30 Indians, 2 Israelis, 2 Asians, and me,
Going deep into our subconscious guided by Sakshi, Vairagi, and Vee.
Getting in touch with our innocence, our nature that is pure, through many dynamic meditations that we must endure.
Music booms through the mandir as we begin our deep breathing,
Keep it fast and chaotic this is no time for sleeping.
Catharsis comes next, fully expressing emotion,
Waves of anger, sadness, and joy rising up from our ocean.
Blockages releasing so what’s next to do?
Jumping with arms raised, of course, while bellowing HOO!
Then freeze, where you are, try to keep your arms lifted,
Observe your body, breath, and mind, as your universe is shifted.
Then the final stage comes as we rejoice and celebrate,
Moving ecstatically, no part of us straight.
Bending and flowing like the twisted tree,
We are not manufactured; we are totally free.
Freedom is a choice, and through Osho we’ve learned,
That doing this work is better than any money you’ve earned.
When navigating life’s journey and taking a chance,
Always remember to live fully and dance.
Don’t give in to expectation, that which is conditioned,
You know your true self, stay firm and positioned.
As we re-enter the world with a fresh perspective and a smile,
Thank you for sharing this experience of reclaiming our inner child.
