Details
Marqaba in Sufism means meditation.
Consisting of several phases, it involves long practices of diverse organised activities and belief systems.
The 3 chief phases of the whole long process: Noor, Wahadat, and Tasawwur further involve more detailing and steps:
• The seeker first learns true devotion and purifying meditation (Marqaba-e-Noor). This is a Sufi self-healing practice, a kind of auto hypnosis, for both the Lataif related to the heart centre i.e. Lataif-e-qlb and Lataif-e-rooh. Eventually, he enters into silence and the state of ecstasy i.e. zikr!
• Further, in an advanced phase, he sees death in its reality; emptying his heart, which leads him to a state of nothingness i.e. 'la' in Sufism!
• The highest and last phase of this whole journey is the seeker’s meeting with his master, on a subtle plane of astral bodies which is Tasawwur-e-sheik!
In Sufism, Marqaba is a kind of sacred meditation system designed for growth of the seeker in the presence of an able guide.
A core system in many Sufi Silsilas, these practices let the seeker purify his spiritual heart, come close to reality and understand the truth behind his being and the cosmos.
Alongside these practices, Osho’s meditations give a practical approach to the seeker, while Osho’s insight on the subject keeps us rooted in the ground on the path.
