OSHO Says:

“Krishna is utterly incomparable. He is unique. Firstly, his uniqueness lies in the fact that although Krishna lived in the ancient past, he belongs to the future. Man has yet to grow to that height where he can be a contemporary of Krishna. He is still beyond man’s understanding; he continues to puzzle and defeat us. Only in some future time will we be able to understand him and appreciate his virtues.

The most important reason is that Krishna is the only great man in our whole history who reached the absolute height and depth of religion and yet is not at all serious or sad, not in tears. If you set aside Krishna’s vision of religion, then every religion of the past presented a sad and sorrowful face. A laughing religion, a religion that accepts life in its totality, is yet to be born.”

In these five days of the meditation group, we will attempt to live and understand Krishna’s approach to life through OSHO’s vision of DHYAAN, PREM, AUR LEELA.

DHYAAN (Meditation): Osho's vision of meditation emphasizes awareness in daily life, moving beyond the traditional practice of silent sitting. It often incorporates physical activity to release tension before entering stillness. The focus is on watchfulness—observing the body, mind, and feelings without judgment—with the ultimate aim of achieving a state of "no-mind," where one becomes a detached watcher of life's flow. This brings an effortless presence into every moment. Osho taught that meditation isn't a separate act but a way of being; a constant awareness of the inner and outer world.

PREM (Love): Love, in this context, is not an action or possession, but a state of being. It is an overflow of inner joy and awareness, a spiritual phenomenon distinct from lust, that grants freedom and elevates the individual. True love is momentary, a peak experience, not a permanent contract. It is about being love—a radiation of the self—rather than just "falling in love" with someone, which often creates attachment and suffering. It is an open-handed, non-expectant sharing of your being, like a spring breeze, that brings richness and makes you weightless.

LEELA (Play): Osho used the Sanskrit word Leela (or Lila) to describe existence as a divine, cosmic game or sport. He urged his followers to engage with life playfully, not seriously. Living life as a divine play or cosmic dance is a core concept that emphasizes joy, non-attachment, and conscious participation, often explored through meditation.

OSHO has blessed us with multiple techniques, which we will be performing in this group. These practices will help us gain insight into being available—physically and mentally—for DHYAAN, PREM, AUR LEELA.

“A meditator is neither a man nor a woman, because meditation has nothing to do with your body; neither does it have anything to do with your mind. In meditation you are simply and purely consciousness. And consciousness is neither male nor female.”
