Tantra speaks about seven chakras- the seven centres of growth. Chakras are dynamic wheels of energy which can transform you totally. Each centre brings a different jewel and all the centres of the body have to function in unity. With each chakra coming in function, our actions will change, our movements will change, our personality will change, and our perceptions of each other will change.

They include the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of our being. From our instincts, sexuality and personal power through to how we love, communicate, use our intuition and insights and connect with our deepest inner stillness.

Base chakra: Instinctive self.
Sacral chakra: Sexual and sensual self.
Solar plexus chakra: Organic strength and inner power.
Heart chakra: Joy and love.
Throat chakra: voice and communication, creativity and self-expression.
Third eye chakra: visual clarity, insights.
Crown chakra: dance of stillness.

If each chakra functions where it should function, we are healthy. When chakras overlap and the natural location is lost, we are in a chaos- constantly thinking about sex, overwhelmed with emotions when the situation demands quick and clear decision-making, physically agitated and dispersed while communicating, etc….

Through dance, voice and theatre, we will see at which level we get identified and learn how to move through all these 7 chakras easily, bringing our energy to its natural place. This is freedom.

Chakra dancing forms an energetic ladder that bridges our material world with our spiritual world. We can use this ladder as a way of reaching higher realms of consciousness, and as we climb back down, we are able to integrate new levels of awareness in our daily lives.

Through:
- Grounding and Centering techniques: Hara exercises from Eric Hawkins,
- Awareness of the natural laws of movement
- Expansion of movement vocabulary in improvisations
- Nonverbal communication and contact dance
- Dance-theatre improvisation.
- Experimental theatre inspired by Grotowski and Peter Brook
- African dance and rhythmic plays, with live music and support of Ashok Kumar who is a fantastic Djembe player and a great actor.
- Butoh Dance Noh Theater
- Study of the vibrations of sounds and singing
- Gurdjieff dances
- Osho Meditations

Dance can take us to the depths of our inner space, and to the heights of infinite that lives within us.

Amiyo, a dancer, choreographer, dance-therapist, and Chetan, a professional singer and musician will share their expertise and love for singing and dancing based on relaxation, self-respect, non-competition and joy.

In 1979, Amiyo was asked by Osho to lead dance workshops in Osho commune and since then she has been conducting these workshops all around the world.

Chetan is a very skilled musician and a wonderful singer, and will help us find our voice with love and care.
