Nisarga, a beautiful journey of meeting myself and my Master. It was a call, a call from snow-covered peaks, crazy river, vast sky, beautiful birds and much more as if I arrived home.
While doing work meditation at Nisarga some unseen corners of my Being were clearly visible. When I arrived, I could feel some kind of unsettled energy. My first task was to communicate with people as I was at the reception. Communication was one of the biggest challenges I was facing. So, journey started with small essential steps. Ma Neelam used to sit with me and help me write emails using the right choice of words. As there is a regular flow of people coming and going at the reception, so the arrival and departure days were busy dealing with participants. I realized how difficult it was for me to be articulate what I wanted to say. I slowly learned to express myself. As I got more aware, it got better with time.
Doing accounts with Swami Tathagat I observed how he took care of any problem with ease. His organizing skills and strong presence could manage a lot. In a month of being in Nisarga came the Vipassana group. Tathagat invited me for a few sessions. I realised how difficult it was for me to sit in silence. The restlessness in my body was obvious. I changed my posture and cushion and learnt how to close my eyes softly and focus on the breath. It took around 8 months of practice until I started enjoying sittings. I was happily surprised when I found myself sitting still during white robes.
With all the laughter and joy in the office I discovered Enneagram through Priya. I was amazed to know how personality works. So many questions were dissolving as I learned more about my traits and how mechanical my responses were. Slowly I was feeling at ease with life and a new longing to find a meditation technique that is suitable for me. And there I got an opportunity to participate in the Satori group with Avikal. I found the method of self-inquiry very effective and helpful in my inner search.
And then came another hobby of bird watching that brought more colour to my life. I was in awe of different birds visiting Nisarga. From my office window, many exotic visitors would pass by. I bought the book “Birds of Indian Subcontinent” and was running around all the time behind birds with binocular. And Rahi had a camera with a special lens and would capture these birds into these spectacular photographs. We both knew where the birds were making their nests. Rahi would sit quietly on top of the trees for hours catching the moment. And some of his best photography is from that time.
Each day was a new discovery at Nisarga. I explored some unfamiliar dimensions of my being. While working I saw unexpected spring of creativity. Doing different decorations for events and flower arrangements with Sahajo Ma I discovered my own hidden artistic qualities. I would often surprise myself with new beautifications each time.
After two years came time to leave and go back to my home town Surat. Here I am back in the society. Life is still bringing many surprises. I am enjoying cooking, reading books, learning classical dance, and being here and now.
I carry beautiful intimate moments with friends’ memories of sacred time spent together. Thank you, Osho. Thank you Nisarga.
